Located in the heart of Canon City at 625 Main Street, My Brother’s Place stands as a vibrant and welcoming bar that perfectly blends a relaxed local vibe with an energetic, community-driven spirit. This unpretentious spot makes it easy to unwind, whether you’re a longtime local or just passing through.
One of the greatest draws here is the genuine warmth of the staff and patrons alike. As highlighted by Jeremy Voss, it’s truly a “best kept secret” where the atmosphere encourages friendly conversation and new connections. The bartenders don’t just serve drinks—they foster a sense of belonging. From the lively dice game that greets you at the bar to the ever-popular Saturday night Jolly Rancher shots, this place thrives on personality and community traditions.
My Brother’s Place excels not only in camaraderie but also in its thoughtfully crafted drink and food offerings. The menu brings a delightfully down-to-earth lineup with highlights like the rich, hearty Elk Chili—a must-try that comforts like a warm embrace after a long day. Pair it with the bar’s staple beer selections, including local Mexican favorites such as Tecate, Dos Equis, Negra Modelo, Corona, and Pacifico, or dive into signature cocktails like the “Panty Dropper” and refreshing Cheladas. The Lemon Razz Raspberry Rum and Lemonade is a seasonal standout, perfected with a local raspberry, showcasing the bar’s creative edge and local pride.
The daily and weekly specials truly elevate the experience. Sundays buzz with NFL excitement through $7 domestic pitchers and potluck food gatherings, complete with free pool and the iconic orange touchdown shots. Mondays and Tuesdays keep the good times rolling with 2-for-1 draws, affordable whiskey combos, free foosball, and beer pong tournaments, making every night feel like a celebration. “Testosterone Tuesdays” ignite the guys’ night with unbeatable happy hour prices on top-shelf spirits, adding to the bar's playful, no-nonsense charm.
My Brother’s Place is known for its inclusive and dog-friendly ambiance, a detail appreciated by patrons seeking a warm, less formal night out. The vintage speakeasy feel referenced by Rick Clayton and the cozy “Warroom” bar tucked in the back give the interior a character that’s both historic and inviting. Yet, it’s the small, personal touches—like remembering your favorite drink or creating festive jello shot parties for Mardi Gras and other celebrations—that really set this place apart.
Of course, no spot is without its quirks; some regulars’ colorful personalities add to the unique, almost family-like dynamic that keeps people coming back. While some may find the occasional interpersonal friction off-putting, for many this just adds to the spirited tapestry that makes My Brother’s Place feel like a true local haven.
Whether you’re drawn by the casual charm, the community vibe, or the enticing flavors of their hearty chili and inventive drinks, My Brother’s Place embodies a rare kind of bar—one that feels not just entertaining but genuinely welcoming and authentic. It’s a place where every visit feels personal, every drink is poured with care, and every laugh is shared sincerely.
For anyone in Cañon City looking for a genuine local experience with great drinks, tasty bites, and a fun, down-to-earth atmosphere, My Brother’s Place is an essential stop—you won’t just visit once; you’ll find yourself coming back again and again.
Did not eat there but the atmosphere was great and people were welcoming. The bartender does this dice game with everyone. Drinks were inexpensive. Cash only which I did not realize but my tab was only a few bucks so someone got me this time. Also doggy friendly
We went for my birthday and it was fantastic!! Everyone greeted us very happily and made it personal which was great. The rooms looked fantastic. Like an old school cigar bar or speakeasy to me. Beautiful. First we went to the Warroom bar. Its in back of the seating area. Dark and so cool. The bartender, so sorry I cant remember her name but she was excellent! Excellent drinks and the one she worked very hard on includes brown butter, it was amazing as well. Our server was Aubrey and she told us it was her first day BUT you couldn't have told it. She was wonderful. Attentive but not overbearing. I was also given a handwritten birthday card which really was so great! Our food was excellent. Startes with Elk Chili, oh man was it tasty. One of the best ribeye steaks I've ever had. My wife had a filet and she never eats the whole thing but she did this time. The sides, creamed spinach and truffle baked potato were delicious! Both managers came by all the tables to see how things were. We were very happy. Don't miss this new place! We will be back as there are more special drinks and entrées we have to try!
This place is pretty good I've been there a lot there is one customer that is a woman older woman wears the same dress all the time as moons and stars and suns on it or something she has a motorized wheelchair and doesn't use it when she comes there she's rude to women because she's jealous especially if they're pretty she's nice to the gay women I am not ugly I've been going to this place for nearly two years; I have seen that woman a lot she's never said a word to me I've watched her in the bar she gets jealous of other women that are talking to men that she's talking to it was my birthday so I came to have a few drinks relaxing out on the patio in front of the bar when out of the blue she looks at me and says I see you giving me dirty looks I hadn't given her any dirty looks believe me when I tell you I am a redhead if I've given you dirty looks you know it I didn't appreciate her childish attitude I've seen her do it more than once to other women somebody needs to talk to her or ban her she's mean and rude to women especially when she's been drinking it's hard to relax when somebody is doing that maybe someone can assess the situation and deal with it
Wanted to finally review the bar. Wife and I love coming here. But I've been dying to ask... Why'd you get rid of the dart board?!?!? My wife and I love playing darts, having a drink and people watching at the front area of the bar. What the heck?! Bring it back!
This could be the best kept secret in Cañon City! Great spot to chill out and have a cold beverage along with some potato chips or pizza if you're hungry. The staff is awesome, friendly and helpful to those of us that are not local. I learned a lot about the city and some local attractions from chatting up the locals during my visit. 5 's!!
Cool little dive bar we stumbled upon. They have a full bar, front patio, historical decor, a map to pin where you’re from, pool table, foosball, arcade game, darts, & our bar tender was very nice. The only thing we didn’t enjoy is how hot it was inside, we would have stayed longer if they had AC on. Nevertheless will be back.
